Glyndon Ave Brighton

The original house on this site was demolished and the site excavated to allow to a for the 5 car garage, laundry, wine cellar and media room in the basement.
The ground floor consisted of a Library and Guest bedroom at the front of the house with a Formal Lounge and Dining in the centre and a full appointed kitchen with full butler’s pantry and living area at the rear. The now indoor pool was part of the original house and was retained and incorporated into the new house design.
The first floor comprised of the Master Bedroom complete with a full ensuite, with spa as well as 3 other generous sized bedroom all with ensuite.
The central chandelier in the main entrance foyer was manufactured locally and was assembled on site and then winched into it final position. The cast iron wall lights on either side of the front door were also made by the same craftsmen. All of the other chandeliers and ornate wall lights were individually selected by the owner and imported from France and Italy.
Clipsal BSL stainless steel power points and switches were to be installed throughout but the owner didn’t like the cold stainless look as it did not go with the contemporary feel of the house. After talking with Precision Plating in Burwood they were able to come up with a specialised finish that the client was happy with. All switchplates and power point were then pulled apart so that the metal plates could be treated and then reassembled and installed on site.
The main construction of the house was completed over a 17 month period with the extensive landscaping of the front and rear gardens completed over the following 6 months.
